UniCredit believes in offering university graduates challenging opportunities to pursue advanced studies in support of their careers with us. To this end, the Group supports and participates in three separate master’s programs, each with a distinctive profile and a focus on a particular aspect of banking, thus offering candidates the opportunity to build solid foundations for careers in banking and finance.

Support for studies – International Internship Program

NEWS: It's now open the third UniCredit International Internship Program! The competition offers 54 grants to students for a summer internship abroad at UniCredit, in any of the following countries: Austria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Russia, Serbia, United Kingdom. The internship will take place during the Summer 2016.

Each winner will receive a grant of €700 per month after tax for the entire duration of the internship abroad. In addition, the Foundation will pay the winners a fixed amount of €1,000 for travel, visa or any other expenses.

Carlo Giannini Fellowship

Applications for 4th edition Research Fellowships from econometrics, in memory of Karla Giannini, was officially opened. The program is intended for top researchers of all nationalities that have undertaken research in econometrics at Italian universities. The program is set by the Centro di Interuniversitario econometrie (CldE) and the Associazione Carlo Giannini, in cooperation with the Bank of Italy and UniCredit & Universities Foundation. The program is intended for top researchers of all nationalities who:
1. completed a doctorate after September 30, 2011, or plan to complete by the beginning of the scholarship
2. wishing to undertake their research in Italian universities (different from the one where they finished the doctorate)

Fellowship duration is one year, with the possibility of extension for 2 years. The scholarship will begin October 1, 2016. The annual amount of the scholarship is € 50,000 gross.

Applications must be submitted by 31 January 2016.

Summer school program

The applications are open for the second edition of the UniCredit & Universities Summer School Program, offering eight scholarships for attending the Summer School for a maximum period of 3 weeks in the period June-August 2016 at the London School of Economics and Barcelona GSE. 4 scholarships will be awarded for each school. Applicants must apply directly and only through the website of foundation. Winners will be informed also to apply through the website of LSE or Barcelona GSE as a winners of the scholarships UniCredit & Universities Foundation. Conditions that candidates must fulfill are:
1) nationals of any country where UniCredit is present and students of any university in the world
2) citizens of any nationality and the students enrolled to the universities of the countries where UniCredit is present

To be considered, candidates must be students enrolled in 3rd year of study or master programs in economics, finance, banking, engineering, political science and law. Doctoral students are not covered by this program.
The winner will be awarded the sum of EUR 1,500 gross. Costs universities will also be paid by the Foundation.

Candidates must apply through the website of the Foundation by 15 March 2016.
The eight winners will be selected by the Scientific Committee and informed by 15 March 2016.

UWIN Best Paper Award

6th edition UNWIN Best Paper Award on the theme of Gender Economics is open. The program is intended for all young economists and researchers from 17 countries in the intended where UniCredit is present.
The two best papers will receive per € 5,000 gross and will be published in the series "The Works" (Working Paper) Foundation.
The selection process will be done by the ad-hoc committee formed of external experts and academic representatives nominated by the Scientific Committee of the Foundation.
The program is open to all young researchers from countries where UniCredit is present and who meet the following requirements:
1. that nationals of the 17 countries where UniCredit is present or not they are currently employed or enrolled in the PhD program or institution located in one of the 17 countries in which UniCredit operates
2. were born after in 1980.
Papers and supporting documentation must be written in English and in PDF format using the on-line application. The deadline for applications is 30 April 2016.

UniCredit – Ugo Foscolo Foundation

Ugo Foscolo Foundation was established by UniCredit Group in March 2009 in order to support the education of new generations of researchers in the fields of economics and finance through two types of financing:


To support research in different areas such as finance, economics, law and social sciences. The scholarships are intended for young, talented students who have graduated from any university within the countries where UniCredit Group operates who plan to continue their Ph.D. studies in any University in Europe outside their home countries. The amount of a scholarship is equal to 25.000 EUR and is provided for one year with the possibility te renewed for a second year.

Post doctoral studies

For talented young researchers who hold a PhD in the fields of economics and finance, from the university in a European country where UniCredit Group is not present. They are engaged in research and academic work in countries where UniCredit Group is not present and intend to continue to work in one of the countries where UniCredit Group operates.
